In case you don't statically link against SDL2, just ignore this paragraph. While I can see that the imperator library isn't dynamically linked against the libSDL2, you may still have statically linked against the libSDL2, in which case you may want to look into that. Going through the old versions I looked which versions introduces this problem and it turns out that was version 1.4.0 Archimedes as the last version to run properly is 1.3.2 Livy.Īnother thing which may help is that I have seen the very same behavior before in a beta for an entirely different game where the issue turned out to be them compiling SDL2 without libudev support which caused that behavior on some setups. The game itself will continue to run normally during these freezes (as in: things will be calculated, loading progresses normally, end of day calculations run normally, etc), which means that it is likely an issue with the renderer. This happens both in the loading screen, the main menu as well as the actual game. The displayed image will always freeze for a couple of seconds every few seconds.
